I'm crazy but you should give me money.

Donate Here

On March 11th, I will partake in arguably the dumbest thing I've ever done.  I will be jumping (or maybe running, I'm not sure) into the Connecticut River.  In March.  No wet suit either, just a "regular" bathing suit.  I'm not the only one doing this; I will be a participant in the Third Annual Leprechaun Plunge.  I will be doing so in the name of charity.

My chosen charity is Shriner's Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA.   Shriners provides a valuable service to children in New England and beyond needing orthopaedic and neuromuscular care.  Here is it's mission statement copied from the website:

Shriners Hospitals for Children has a mission to:
  • Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
  • Provide for the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families.
This mission is carried out without regard to race, color, creed, sex or sect, disability, national origin or ability of a patient or family to pay.

As you can imagine, such care is very costly.  Your donations are greatly appreciated.  There are a few ways you can donate.  1)You can mail me a check, but keep in mind I need to have all funds raised by the 11th.  2) You can go to my paypal site which is pretty convenient if I do say so myself.  3) You can give me money the next time you see me.

Thanks for your help and consideration,
Becky
